As the first step, Dr. Olesen may take “before” photographs or X-rays. Then, she will sand away relatively small sections of the tooth enamel on the affected tooth. For the next step, Dr. Olesen will sculpt the tooth into a more aesthetically pleasing shape. Using sanding strips, she will shape the sides of the teeth using a back and forth motion.
When she completes the procedure, you will have teeth that are better matched in size and shape, giving a better overall appearance. Your teeth also will seem less crowded. By removing only a small amount of tooth enamel, you can smile with greater self-confidence!
